Everybody Is Beautiful - This Is Non-Negotiable

My dear friend Abby over at Bartonia's Blogs has just posted something that made me like her all the more. Here's the link. Her self esteem has taken a hard hitting over the summer but even though it's made her feel less than good, she's still kicking ass and standing up for herself. That's what we should all do in the face of people that put us down, whether it be about our body, our lifestyle choices, who we spend time with or whatever - DON'T let other people get away with making you feel bad.

The world is full of so many different people. The media would have us believe that the 'norm' or 'perfect' image is one of slim, white, wholesome looking people with unnaturally shiny hair. Well I'm sorry but that is not the world I live in - nor is it the world that I wish to live in.

My world looks like this, and I think it's so beautiful -

I don't understand why anyone would be horrible about womanly curves like this.

This woman is a breast cancer survivor. She is stunning.

Wrinkles are one of the benefits of getting older. Look how gorgeous they are - why freeze them out with chemicals when you can have expression?

Birth marks - a sign that you are alive in the world. Nothing ugly about that.

Bald = Beautiful

This is a model called Viktoria and she is HAWT.

This is the 'average face of the world'.

  1. I totally agree with this. Whereas beauty can be subjective from one person to the next .. and when it isn't something you absolutely need to be happy .. everyone is attractive in some way.

    I actually prefer chubbier women. And some "obese" women can still have BEAUTIFUL faces and shining personalities like anyone else!

    And the Vicktoria picture isn't showing up, but I take your word for it. I love the variety of photos!

  2. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder – it is sad that we live in a world where people are judged on looks and not personality. It is also interesting how people will accept other people, who don’t fit the norm, only once they get to know them, at which point stop seeing the imperfections…
